Aquino Cojuangco: Facts They Don’t Want You To Know video

Gen. Antonio Luna
Around the same time that cyber rally dubbed as "Rally ng Bayan" was in progress a video on the Aquino and Cojuangco clanss circulated in the Internet. And in no time at all the Youtube video went viral in Facebook, particularly in the numerous anti-Noynoy Aquino groups and pages. Bloggers went frantic and featured the video in their sites. And the video found its way into popular online communities.

The video entitled "Aquino Cojuangco: Facts They Don’t Want You To Know" was produced and uploaded to Youtube by PinoyMonkeyPride Productions. Opening credit states that the video was created by one Baron Buchokoy.

It narrates the rise to power of the Aquino-Cojuangco clans which started with the love story of national hero Antonio Luna and Ysidra Cojuangco, grandmother of Cory Aquino. Shortly before Luna was assassinated by Emilio Aquinaldo's men, he transported treasures of the Philippine Revolutionary government from Ilocos and Pampanga to Ysidra's house in Paniqui, Tarlac. After Luna's death, the treasures composed of gold and silver coins were appropriated by Ysidra. In 1900 Ysidra Cojuangco became one of the richest women in the Philippines. As the gold and silver coins are property of the revolutional government, this could very well be the first every plunder committed in the Philippines!

Second part of the video tells how Cory's father was able to buy Hacienda Luisita from cigar maker Tabacalera and how the clan was able to keep the land. It also shows how Cory Aquino used the presidency and military force to protect not only her family's interest but of the land-owning class in general.

Part Three is basically about the gory Hacienda Luisita massacre and related killing of farm workers' leaders and supporters where some of then congressman Noynoy Aquino's bodyguards were reportedly involved.

The last part offers a thesis of how the Aquino-Cojuangco political clan and tje oligarchs benefited from each other with the yellow media like ABS-CBN and Inquirer acting as layer of protection by demonizing those who wish to reform the system. Call it conspiracy theory but it surely evokes people to consider it even for a moment.

Reading through the many comments on Facebook, Youtube and online communities I can sense that quite a number gave positive feedback on the video. They somehow felt as if the power of truth has liberated them from manipulation and ignorance.

And with video going viral like a mad wildfire, it won't be long before it set many more free.
