Dark Thoughts and Twisted Minds

Shakespeare's Richard III
And now, instead of mounting barbed steeds
To fright the souls of fearful adversaries,
He capers nimbly in a lady's chamber
To the lascivious pleasing of a lute.
But I, that am not shaped for sportive tricks
Nor made to court an amorous looking-glass;
I, that am rudely stamped, and want love's majesty
To strut before a wanton ambling nymph;
I, that am curtailed of this fair proportion,
Cheated of feature by dissembling nature,
Deformed, unfinished, sent before my time
Into this breathing world scarce half made up,

...  And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover
To entertain these fair well-spoken days,
I am determined to prove a villain
And hate the idle pleasures of these days.
Plots have I laid, inductions dangerous,
By drunken prophecies, libels, and dreams,

Nope. The above words are not the musings of a Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino the Third. Students of Shakespeare could easily recognize the lines are part of Act One, Scene One of "The Tragedy of King Richard The Third."

House for Sale

The United States of America is still reeling from the economic disaster brought about by the credit crunch that resulted to record number of houses foreclosed. This housing crisis not only stripped many American families of their houses as those who were able to keep theirs are stunned as they see the value of their houses plummeted. Worse even at their historical low prices, there were hardly any buyers.

Sense and Sensibility

Screen shot of Valerie Conception's tweets
As rescuers are having a hard time searching for still missing bodies . . .

As relief goods are hard to come by and arrive in trickle amount . . .

As Mindanaoans affected by Sendong are trying to pick up the pieces of their ravaged lives . . .

As many Iliganons and Cagayanons are mourning the loss of family members . . .

Noynoy Aquino was having a great time last night at the PSG Christmas Party in Malacanang!

Weather-Weather Lang Yan

Sendong dumped 50 mm/hr of rainfall
Makes me wonder what kind of preparation the government did on Sendong. As early as Monday last week regional directors of OCD from Regions VI to XII were sent back to their respective offices. They were not able to attend the agency's Xmas party last Friday so they can have time to prepare for Sendong. The amount of destruction and number of lives lost speak of an inferior disaster response management system.

One of the things that can get into Noynoy Aquino's nerve is critique of his zero-casualty disaster management program, if there is even one.

On Shaky Grounds

SC Chief Magistrate Renato Corona
The railroaded impeachment of Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona is but the culmination point. No matter how hard Malacanang deny having any part on the Impeach Corona move, the truth is too glaring to be dismissed.

We all know how Aquino himself, personally laid the groundwork that led to the indespicable action of ravenous and pork-crazed members of Congress. Didn't Aquino on at least two occasions, pointed to Corona as the remaining stumbling block to his much-hyped yet empty "tuwid na daan?"

Isn't it much of a coincidence that following his attack on Corona his minions in Congress held a secret meeting at the house of Rep. Boyet Gonzales to discuss the draft impeachment complaint against Corona they will pass around to congressmen to sign. The caucus called by Speaker Belmonte last Monday was a mere cover-up for the Gonzales resident covert meeting last weekend.
